Walker House, Auburndale, Newton, MA

Walker Barton LLC, and its managers Scott Shuster and Clayton Ferraz will develop sixteen units in the Auburndale area of Newton, Massachusetts.

 

The project will consist of completing a gut renovation of two existing buildings (the Walker House and the Barton House) and the construction of four new townhomes. The units will range from 1200 to 3900 square feet and the townhomes will be approximately 3000 square feet.  The project will include two inclusionary units, one in each existing building.  The Walker House will feature an elevator and the townhomes will also have private lifts.

 

Unit features and finishes will include new oak floors and high-end stainless appliances in the kitchen with quartz countertops and custom cabinetry.

The master bedrooms will be large and feature walk-in closets and a luxurious master bathroom.

 

The master bathroom will have a walk-in shower, a large double vanity with a stone top, heated floors and other amenities.

 

The buildings will feature all new systems, including new high efficiency heating and air conditioning, electric and plumbing systems. The brick exteriors of the existing buildings will be repaired and restored and the other portions of the buildings will have all new siding.  Two of the townhomes will feature new Hardieboard siding and the other two will have a brick veneer.  All buildings will have new Pella windows, a new roof and  home automation systems.

 

The townhomes will feature private garage spaces. The Walker House will also have some garage parking.  The majority of the units in the development will have two spaces, either in a garage or in the private outside parking area.  The development is also approximately ¼ mile to the Riverside T Station and a short walk to the Auburndale Commuter Rail Station. The development is approximately one minute from the Massachusetts Turnpike making it an ideal commuter spot for those working in the city.  The units will feature a generous landscaped gathering area with a patio and fire pit and some of the units will have private decks.
